GL-P2F: Intelligent Accelerographs

Intelligent ACCELEROGRAPH

The intelligent vibration pickup instrument GL-P2F is an integrated acceleration measurement instrument that integrates a 3-point MEMS acceleration sensor and a 24-bit data collector. It has a dynamic observation range of ±2.0g in the horizontal direction and -1g in the vertical direction. ~3g dynamic observation range, DC-80Hz frequency bandwidth. Another outstanding feature of GL-P2F is its small size (132mm*83mm*32mm) and light weight (about 1.9kg). It supports both ground installation and wall-mounted installation, making it easy to install.

GL-P2F is embedded with Linux operating system, provides Ethernet network interface, supports TCP/IP, FTP and TELNET and other protocols, supports continuous data stream transmission and remote FTP download of data files; the device has built-in WIFI, supports STA and AP modes, which is convenient for users. Network connection and parameter settings; the device has built-in 8G (expandable) large-capacity memory for storing collected data. In terms of timing, GL-P2F supports network (NTP/PTP) timing, of which PTP timing requires user customization.

The in-built ADC is characterized by three balanced differential channels, delivering high resolution and an expansive dynamic range. This ensures rapid, real-time data streaming with unmatched timing precision. Moreover, its network capabilities enable diverse sampling, with a dynamic range hitting its zenith at 138dB at 50 samples-per-second (sps).

Applications

  • Used for strong vibration monitoring and health assessment of smart city buildings, structures and major facilities
  • Used to build intensity rapid reporting and earthquake early warning networks
  • Used in urban engineering earthquake disaster simulation and assessment systems
  • Preventive protection of cultural relics and environmental monitoring system for cultural relics facilities

Scope of Use

  • GL-P2F Intelligent Vibration Pickup Instrument
The GL-P2F features a highly integrated design with a 3-way MEMS acceleration sensor and 24-bit data acquisition system. It provides three key functions: traditional seismic wave signal pickup, 24-bit seismic data collection, and network services.

Compatible with the EDAS-24IP seismic data collector, it offers various communication interfaces for parameter configuration and data access, including LAN Ethernet and RS-232C serial port. Users can create earthquake intensity observation points, enabling an earthquake early warning network with stable data transmission, precise parameter processing, timely information dissemination, and effective emergency response.

  • Establishing a Versatile Earthquake Early Warning Network
The GL-P2F intelligent vibration pickup instrument offers flexible data service options for seismic networks, including:
    • Serial port data transmission
    • LAN port and dedicated line data transmission
    • Internet-based data transmission
    • ADSL and Internet data transfer
    • GPRS and CDMA mobile network data transmission
It seamlessly integrates with the Hong Kong Seismic Company's EDAS-24IP/24GN seismic data collector and GL-P2B/GL-P2C intensity meter, supporting real-time waveform transmission and recording file formats. This facilitates grid-connected operations and simplifies routine maintenance and management of the network.

  • Urban Earthquake Disaster Simulation and Assessment
To enhance urban earthquake safety and resilience, we're developing a region-specific disaster simulation and prediction system. It conducts scientific calculations for pre-earthquake safety assessments, disaster defense capabilities, prevention planning, and reinforcement strategies. Post-earthquake, it facilitates rapid disaster assessment, economic loss evaluation, and recovery planning. This system significantly elevates our urban earthquake management and emergency response capabilities.

Built upon the GL-P2F intelligent vibration pickup, it enables an urban disaster risk assessment system, improving urban emergency management, plan revision, coordination, early warning, and major accident risk assessment.

  • Cultural Relics Environmental Protection and Monitoring
The preservation of cultural relics faces serious environmental challenges. Leveraging the GL-P2F intelligent vibration pickup, we've established an environmental monitoring system for artifact collections, making progress in environmental control technology. We've developed risk assessment indices and a technology system for risk-based heritage site monitoring and decision-making. This research covers natural deterioration, sudden disasters, and human-made destruction, forming a risk management theory.

Using GL-P2F in cultural relics protection, we combine spatial info, image analysis, environmental monitoring, IoT, data storage, and analysis. This establishes databases for geographical, environmental, artifact status, image storage, and security. This supports cultural relics protection, improving monitoring, management, and decision-making capabilities in museums and heritage sites.
