SARA TERRABOT: A High-Performance, Versatile Seismograph


TERRABOT stands out as a compact and flexible seismograph, notable for its high reliability, thanks to our advanced SEISMONUX recording software. It is equipped with three channels, offering sampling rates from 1 to 1500 samples per second. This range allows for a broad spectrum of applications, from passive seismic studies to single-station surveys using the Nakamura method (HVSR), as well as permanent seismic monitoring.

CONNECTIVITY

TERRABOT operates on a Linux system, supporting a variety of communication protocols like TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, Telnet, and MODBUS. Accessible via both a WiFi channel and an Ethernet port, it ensures full operation with communication media such as PSTN, GSM, GPRS, SAT, WAN, LAN, etc. Its design allows connectivity even through firewalls and NAT filters, thanks to VPN support.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

The low power consumption of TERRABOT makes it ideal for remote areas, functioning effectively with small-sized solar panels or batteries.

SYNCHRONIZATION

Equipped with a GPS receiver, TERRABOT ensures data synchronization with UTC time. It also has an NTP client for synchronization in environments where GPS signals are unavailable, like tunnels and indoor settings

APPLICATIONS

TERRABOT is uniquely designed for soil use. Its spherical shape facilitates easy placement in challenging environments. It achieves optimal performance when working in mini-array configurations with other units. Main applications include local seismic monitoring, bi- and three-dimensional arrays for exploration, wide interspace linear arrays, HVSR arrays for 2D reconstruction diagrams, and modal analysis.

HARDWARE

TERRABOT can incorporate high-gain 4.5Hz geophones or linearized geophones with a Lippmann circuit, offering frequencies of 1Hz or 0.5Hz. The durable case, made of aluminum, stainless steel, and PVC, is resistant to corrosive agents and suitable for permanent field deployment

SOFTWARE CUSTOMIZATION

TERRABOT is equipped with algorithms for efficient triggering and multiple parameterization, allowing seamless integration with other Terrabot units. Connected to a PC via cable or WiFi, it can perform real-time frequency domain analysis in array configurations. Customizations are available for both hardware and software to meet specific needs.
